Goals of the organisation
The goals of the OGM dangers organisation (GMO hazards) is to fight against Geneticaly Modified Organisms (GMOs) notably in agriculture and food, independently of any political or confessional obedience. The organisation favors radical thesis in that it intends to address the roots (= radix, icis in latin) of the problems. The organisation will unmask the numerous aspects that are behind GMOs :
- philosophical : transgenesis propagates a mecanist perception of life, as if it were a building game. This reductionnist vision is the follow-up of the " all genetics " theory. It induces a radical change of our conception of individuality and alterity by instrumentalizing biological functions, properties, beings (human, animals, ...). Transgenesis and its getting commonplace paves the way for acceptance of a new eugenism that would produce humain beings at will ;
- economical : the avowed goal of the agro-chemico-alimentary multinationals, that promote GMOs, is the control of the "global alimentary chain " ;
- political : politicians surreptitiously transfer their responsibility to expert comities. For such a topic, the decision belongs neither to experts nor to politics nor to international comities, but to the citizens ;
- environnmental : dissemination of genes and radical modification of ecosystems or of any of its parts are major hazards. GMO will trigger super weeds resistant to multiple herbicides and super pests resistant to multiple pesticides ;
- the food chains : there are numerous incertainties regarding the risks. Some studies, that proved GMOs to have intrinsic hazards have been brutally stopped even though they were public research projects;
- consumer : disseminations of genes are unavoidable and already proven. They prevent consumers from having the possibility to choose GMO-free products, whatever their motivation might be. Consumers have not asked for GMOs, they have no interest in them, do not want them and yet some researchers (both from the public and private sector) want to make us accept modified food ;
- agricultural : GMOs are the climax of the industrialization of agriculture which is already very advanced. We want a peasant agriculture. Transgenic agriculture, notably because of dissemination, prohibits the guarantee of an organic or classical agriculture : it is hegemonic ;
- legal : we refuse patents of life forms whether they are on a gene, a bacteria, an element of human body or of any other animal ;
- role of research : research (even public) favors a mecanistic perception of life, to "improve" it to the detriment of a more complex perception. Research, even when not tied to private interests, works for public acceptance of transgenesis. It refuses not to use this " marvelous tool " that makes it possible to cross species barriers and to act as a god. The perfecting by the public sector of that technique will make the advent of biological weapons that armies and terrorists could use possible. This proves technique in general and even research are not neutral.
